Come by foot, bike, trolley, bus or carpool and WEAR SOMETHING GREEN to help us celebrate the Art in earth when you join us for a day of free and 'green' family fun
SPECIAL EVENTS
Guest Artist
11 am – 2~3 pm Mandala Installation Watch as Bonnie Zimmer creates a huge circular artwork on the lawn. Bonnie can accommodate up to 16 helpers (10 years and older)

Live Music
11 am – 12 pm Community Drum Circle Join in with your percussion instruments – bought, brought or borrowed.
12 pm – 1 pm Reused Fashion Revue, with select drum accompaniment. (Post these for a prize on Facebook, too!) Show off your fun, funky, vintage, practical, or glamorous recycled fashions if you dress to the beat of a different drum!Model your creatively worn, sewn or altered wear, as we show a few of our own.
1 pm – 3 pm Performing songwriter Joe Peters Original folk music with a conscience.
3 pm – ? pm Howie Clark’s Old-time Dance Band With circle dances called by Barry Rubin.

- ·Leaf Through My Book: Let a different media & concept sprout on every recycled page
- ·Chalk Drawings: Leave your ‘green-action’ figure on the pavement to show how you can be green
- Clay Recycling:‘Knead’ to experience squishing clay through bare toes to make it re-useable?
- Puppets:Recycle stuffed animals into lively puppets & help them converse about the earth!
Facebook Photo Ops
- Me, Green: Create a wild green outfit from our green costume box for your photos. If you have green clothing articles to contribute to the costume box, bring them along.
- Wildest green outfit posted on the Art Museum’s Facebook page by September 11 wins a prize!
- Ready, Set, Go Figure: Arrange materials donated by Hoosier Recycling to create your own figure in 10 minutes.
- One creative figure from recycled materials posted on the Art Museum’s Facebook page by September 11 wins a prize!
- Bag the Plastic: Pose in Hoosier Recycling’s giant reusable bag as a family future shopping pledge: ‘Plastic? No!’ Rid your house of a few clean plastic bags to add to Linda Anderson’s Bag Monster Costume.
Family Challenges
- Pick ‘Nix!’: Can you bring and eat your picnic on the lawn without making any trash?
- Tree Key: Take it from Glenda and learn how to identify trees around the museum grounds
- Green List: Each gets to add just one single phrase, title or word that includes the term green!
- Recycling Quiz: How much do you really know about recycling?
- Time Out(doors): Tell someone about your favorite outdoor place or nature experience
- Relax and Relay: Family members learn & share one new earth fact from books on a blanket
