Directions for making and installing hook for hanging wall art.
1. Cut 3.5” strip of 22GA wire.

2. Bend into “hairpin” shape with parallel sides.

3. Set the bend at the 1” mark on a flat ruler, then bend the tails over the edge to 90°.

4. Rotate the tails 90° so the hook lays flat and adjust the tails to be in a straight line.

5. Draw a parallel line one inch from the top edge and mark its exact center.

6. Draw a vertical axis line through the center point extending upward exactly 0.5 “.

7. Cut mat board scraps approximately 1.25 x 2”. Trace it’s shape centered and below horizontal axis. Flip top over bottom, below its tracing.

8. Apply ample amounts of hot glue in vertical stripes inside the traced box, and horizontal stripes to the piece of cut mat board.
Place the wire hook into the glue. It is essential the loop be at the top of the vertical axis line, and its sides parallel to that line.

9. Rotate the cut mat board top over bottom and place it over its tracing. 0.5” of the loop remains above the piece of mat board.

10. Push the glued areas together firmly, applying pressure for 15 seconds.
For larger and heavier works use this same process, placing the hooks at the upper corners, 1.25” from the sides.
