Come enjoy a beautiful fall day! Artists and the public are invited to paint and sketch the landscape around the Wabash or watch the artists create. This community event is free for all!

Saturday, October 11

8 am - 9 am Participating artists drop off and register framed painting on display easles for the PAINTING SALE at the train depot

9 am - 5 pm SALE OF FRAMED PAINTINGS by participating artists at the train depot

9 am -2 pm FREE OIL PAINTING DEMONSTRATION BY JEFF KLINKER

9 am - 2 pm Workshops Register for workshops before October 5th by calling the art museum (765)742-1128, ext 102 or by e-mailing Glenda McClatchey, glenda@glmart.org with your name, address phone and the name of the workshop.

SKETCHING with James Werner: If you’ve always wanted to take a sketch book with you on vacation to capture that special place, you’ll want to take this workshop.  For all skill levels. 9 am - 2 pm, $35 James Werner also teaches drawing for the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette’s regular studio art classes.

WATERCOLORS with Jeannie McLeish: Learn the secrets of painting the landscape quickly as the light is changing.  You will come away with experience and valuable reference hand-outs to use in the future.  From Mooresville, IN Jeannie is admired for being one of the best teachers of plein aire painting in the country. For all skill levels, 9 am - 2 pm. $45 Jeannie also donated the original watercolor for the RAFFLE.

PASTEL with Carol Strock-Wasson: Chalk is a soft and sensuous medium for artists.  Blending the colors of nature on paper is what pastel is all about.  This workshop is also for all skill levels, 9 am - 2pm. $45. Carol is a prize winning artist from Union City.

YOUTH WORKSHOP with Cindy Krulitz ages 7-13: Create your own landscape using pen and ink with background watercolor washes. Don't be shy, trust Cindy to show you how, step-by-step, and have fund doint it! Some materials will be provided. Beginning and all skill levels. 1pm - 2:30 pm $15.

4 pm Gathering of "Wet Paintings" Riehle Plaza. All participants are invited to bring their just completed, “WET” Paintings, Drawings, and Pastels to Riehle Plaza to share their efforts of the day with each other and spectators.  The public is invited to purchase paintings directly from the artist.  Immediately followed by the Artist Reception in the Train Depot.

5-7 pm Reception to meet the Artists in the depot Meet the artists at the Reception in the Train Depot.  Greet the artists and have a chance to ask them “how they did that” or “why they chose those colors or that particular scene”.
